What is Transparent Polyurethane Primer – WP200?
WP200 is a one-component, solvent-based, low-viscosity transparent polyurethane primer. Due to its fast drying time, deep penetration, and excellent adhesion to substrates, it is the best preparatory layer for porous surfaces such as concrete, brick, and wood before applying various sealants.
Key advantages of this product include high penetration power into substrate surfaces and excellent adhesion to different materials. It is used as a primer for sealing structural and control joints in concrete, industrial and commercial flooring, parking areas, balconies, roofs, and airports.
By filling surface pores and gaps with WP200 polyurethane primer, material consumption for the next layer is reduced, and a more uniform surface is created for the main application. Mandana Polymer, a knowledge-based engineering company, has developed a new type of elastomeric material based on polyurethane resin under the brand name WP200 Transparent Polyurethane Primer using high-tech knowledge and innovation.
How to Use Transparent Polyurethane Primer – WP200?
Step 1: Surface Preparation
– Before applying polyurethane, the target surface must be coated with WP200 polyurethane primer. (Recommended consumption: 150g per square meter.)
– For fresh concrete surfaces, wait at least 14 days before applying WP200.
– The moisture content of concrete must be below 4% when applying the primer.
– The surface must be clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or any contaminants.
– Loose layers must be removed using mechanical methods such as sandblasting.
– To enhance adhesion and quality, grind the concrete surface using a sanding machine, then remove dust using a vacuum.
– Cracks and holes should be repaired before applying WP200.
– When applying on stone surfaces, ensure the surface is clean, dry, and contaminant-free.
Step 2: Pre-Application Checks & Recommendations
– Stir the contents slowly for 3 minutes, then wait for air bubbles to dissipate.
– Apply WP200 using a brush or roller.
– The amount of primer required depends on the surface’s porosity and dimensions. (150g per square meter on non-porous surfaces covers 1m² completely.)
Application Conditions for WP200 Polyurethane Primer
– Temperature: Between 10°C and 35°C
– Relative Humidity: Maximum 70%
– Note: Avoid applying WP200 during rain or within 24 hours after application.
